Aluminum Care Tips:

Machined aluminum products offer a perfect balance of lightweight practicality and remarkable load-bearing strength. With the right care, you can expect your ring to last for many years to come.

Minimal wear can be expected from any functional hardware.

To reduce wear on anodized, brushed, or polished aluminum:

  1.  Keep your ring in the included protective drawstring bag, separate from other gear.

  2.   Carabiners will naturally create wear due to metal-on-metal friction (marring). Adding a small strip of electrical tape to the inside of the carabiner is an easy way to soften contact (especially with anodized surfaces).

*Electrical tape is available in a range of colors at many hardware stores.

   3.  Keep the ring clean and dry to prevent oxidation.

  4.  Avoid prolonged exposure to sweat, saltwater, or humid storage.

  5.  Clean aluminum surfaces with a microfiber cloth only; avoid abrasives.

  6.  Non-abrasive aluminum polish can be used on brushed or polished finishes to maintain shine.

   7.  Small scratches can be removed from brushed aluminum finishes using 400-grit sandpaper in the direction of the grain (not for polished or anodized finishes).

  8.  Inspect surfaces regularly for debris that could increase rope friction.
